Prayer Corner

We invite you to join us in prayer and meditation as we look to God for wisdom and guidance in our search for a new lead minister. Your prayers are an important part of this entire process and as we seek God's will together we can look forward to "Glorifying God and Growing in our Faith"!

It Is Written:

If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my father in heaven will do it for you and whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you and you will receive it.

Prayers & Meditations

Romans 8:26-3

We are focusing our prayers on every aspect of our search for a minister. For our Elders and leaders, committee members, recommenders, for the man God has called to be our minister and his family and for every member of the San Jose family. We pray that all of us will have hearts and minds open to the leading of the Holy Spirit knowing He helps us in our weaknesses so we can be assured and know that God is working everything together for our good.

John 13:34-35

As we go through our search process we want to remember our mission - the reason God has called us to be His church - we pray that the Holy Spirit will renew a passion for God's work in us, opening our eyes to all the possibilities and purposes we have internationally and right here in our own church family and community. We pray that God will open our eyes and hearts to those He has placed in our daily paths and those He brings in the doors of our building.

Colossians 1:9

Trials and Uncertainty

Let's let Paul’s prayer for the church at Colossae be our prayer. He prayed for them to be filled with the complete knowledge of God's will, all spiritual wisdom, understanding and discernment of spiritual things, and to be strengthened with all His glorious power to be able to exercise every kind of endurance and patience with joy.

Mathew 5:13-19

Wisdom & Witness

We pray that God will use this time of waiting to grow our faith and trust in Him alone. We pray that we will become passionate for sharing God's love for us to those around us and that we will become the light and salt of the earth.

1 Corinthians 13:4

Blessing & Thanksgiving

This is a day of blessing and praise! Through prayer we want to commit to God to say only things that will bless, build up, encourage, comfort and inspire others. Speak words of life!! Thank God for loving us so that we are able to know what love is and we can in turn love others and be a blessing to them. To our precious, gracious and Holy God, we want to offer praise and thanksgiving for both the physical and spiritual blessings we have in Christ Jesus. We want the reputation of our church to be a loving people, full of joyful praise and thanksgiving.

Matthew 14:22-33

We want to pray for the ability to focus on God. We pray for our committee members to keep their eyes on Jesus and not be distracted by the details of the process. We pray for the people of the church to keep their focus on God's power only. In Him alone do we put all our hopes and all our dreams. Help us to dream big! Help us not to look at our circumstances, but to look to our God. Keeping our eyes on Him will keep us walking on the water like Peter, in great expectations of a great God who is able to deliver.

Romans 12

Let's focus our prayer on offering ourselves - heart & soul (mind will and emotions) as living sacrifices. Out of our deep gratitude for God's mercy given to us through Jesus, we submit our way to His will. We pray that God will use us to further His kingdom and to be a blessing to all who need to know His grace.
